A proposed class proceeding was filed in the B.C. Supreme Court on December 21, 2004 which alleges that various credit unions charged overdraft fees in contravention of theCriminal Code prior to March 2003. This action seeks the recovery of money which those credit unions have collected in excess of the maximum rate permitted under the Criminal Code.
